Every WolfTeam Legacy player on Wolfory starts exactly the same way: level 1, a fresh Recruit badge and a long ladder stretching upward. There is no shortcut on that ladder and nothing to buy for it — ranks here are a public record of the matches you have actually put in. This guide explains how the climb works in practice: what GP is, when promotions fire, why your rank name sometimes stays the same while your badge keeps changing, and where to watch each step on the site and in the game. It is the companion to the rankings and Prides guide on this blog; that one covers the leaderboard and the clan side, while this one is about your own progression.
The ladder: from Recruit to the top
You create an account and enter the field as a Recruit at level 1. From there, every promotion raises your level by one, and the ordinary player range runs all the way to level 61 — shown as General in English and Orgeneral in Turkish. Promotions happen one grade at a time: there is no way to skip steps, and there is no separate prestige or reset system to grind. The one tag outside the ladder is GM, which belongs to staff accounts and is not part of the player climb at all. Everything between Recruit and General is pure match work.
GP: the fuel of every promotion
GP is the progression currency you earn by playing rewarded matches against other players. Bot matches are deliberately worth zero GP — AI Deathmatch rooms are for warming up your aim, not for climbing, and no amount of bot farming will move your badge. Real matches pay automatically when they count: finish what you join, because rewards are tied to legitimate, complete matches rather than mere presence.
Promotions are also automatic. Each grade has a GP threshold, and the moment your accumulated GP reaches it, the game promotes you and carries the surplus toward the next step. There is nothing to claim and no button to press. The thresholds grow steadily: your very first promotion costs 2,000 GP, the middle of the ladder runs through the tens of thousands, and the final step to the top player grade costs just under 25 million GP. That curve is intentional — early progress comes quickly to keep new players moving, while the long end of the ladder is where veterans separate themselves.
Why the name stays while the badge changes
With the Turkish locale, WolfTeam Legacy now displays the real Turkish military rank ladder, from Er upward: Onbaşı and Çavuş groups follow, then the astsubay (NCO) ranks, then the officer ranks from Asteğmen through Albay, and finally the general ranks — Tuğgeneral, Tümgeneral, Korgeneral, Orgeneral — with Mareşal at the very top of the chart. English keeps the classic WolfTeam names, from Recruit at the bottom to General at the top of the ordinary range. The two ladders are the same progression wearing different uniforms; switching the site or client language changes the labels, never your position.
One detail worth knowing: rank names repeat across several grades. In Turkish, Er covers the first five promotions, Onbaşı and Çavuş the next ten, and the NCO and officer titles each span three grades — just like step ranks in a real army. Your badge, however, is unique to your exact grade. Every single grade has its own 32-pixel badge artwork, and the very first one — the Recruit badge — was redrawn as an original Wolfory wolf-shield design. So when your name has not changed but your badge has, that is the ladder quietly confirming a promotion.
Where to watch your progress
You never have to guess where you stand. Signed in on the Wolfory website, your header shows your current badge plus the name of your current and next rank, and the progression page breaks down how much GP remains before the next promotion. The rankings page shows where the rest of the community sits on the same ladder, and the profile pages of players you meet in the directory carry their grades too. In game, /progress prints your current reward goals and /matchstatus follows the running match — both are covered in detail in the chat commands guide on this blog.
How to climb faster — the honest way
The fastest climbers treat progression as a side effect of playing well, not as a job. Stack the deck in your favor with the rhythm that already works: a short bot warm-up that pays nothing but sharpens your aim, then real matches that pay GP and Gold at the daily tiers — the first rewarded matches of each day pay best, and a weekly milestone lands every Monday. Objective modes are underrated for progression because they reward positioning and teamwork, which keeps you alive and finishing matches. And if a room will not count toward rewards, /progress tells you before you waste twenty minutes.
Above all, ignore anyone selling ranks, accounts or GP. They are not selling anything that exists. On Wolfory, power is earned, never sold — and every promotion on this ladder is proof that you earned yours in the field. See you on the rankings page.
